BARONET CATS

ABOUT US

Breeders

We began our breeding journey with stunning Colourpoint British Shorthairs and later expanded to include solid colours. Our primary focus is the health and happiness of our cats, providing them with a stimulating and enriched environment that encourages exploration and play.

Family

Our kittens are raised in a lively family home with teens, younger children, and two playful toy poodles, Tilley and Dora. This ensures they are well-socialised, accustomed to the hustle and bustle of family life, and comfortable being handled by people of all ages.

Our Cats

Our cats are cherished pets, and their well-being is our top priority. They enjoy full access to our home and a custom-built outdoor area designed to keep them safe from neighbouring cats. While they are strictly indoor cats, they benefit from a rich, interactive environment.

Living closely with our family, our cats are well-acclimated to everyday household activities and noises. All our queens and studs are registered as active with the GCCF, with studs holding certificates of entirety.

Health and Screening

We prioritise the health of our breeding cats by conducting thorough health screenings:

  • PKD (Polycystic Kidney Disease): All cats are negative.

  • ALPS (British Shorthair autoimmune lymphoproliferative syndrome): Recently added, and all cats are negative.

  • Blood Group Testing: Ensures compatibility between queens and studs before mating.

  • FIV and FeLV Testing: Regular testing for feline immunodeficiency virus and feline leukemia virus.

Our cats are routinely wormed and treated to prevent fleas and mites using age- and weight-appropriate products, with special care for pregnant queens.
